SUBMISSIONS
Freefall Entertainment is seeking talented artists and writers in the Greater Toronto Area to produce mature-theme comics, graphic novels and webcomics. Please read below for specifications:
Artists
We are looking for artists who have:
1. A firm grasp of drawing (anatomy, perspective, design, composition and lighting) and an awareness of colour theory.
2. A thorough understanding of characterization, story-telling (no pin-ups!) and cinematography.
3. A unique style and approach to art! We encourage experimentation of mixed media such as paint (oil, acrylic, watercolour, gouache, etc.) and dry media (charcoal, coloured pencil, pastel, marker). We are currently not interested in producing anything completely digital.
Writers
Freefall is looking for writers with an understanding of the three act structure to serve one of the following functions:
1. Writing plots for graphics novels, and miniseries.
2. Completing full scripts from provided outlines.
3. Writing full-scripts.
4. Writing and Illustrating full stories.
Webcomics
Freefall is pleased to announce the exciting addition of our Webcomics section!
We are looking for:
1. Concepts for original ongoing series in ANY genre, to be published online at least once per week.
2. A unique logo and/or logotype to be associated with the proposed series. (This can be designed later, but show us if you have one!)
3. Creators/ teams who are computer/web saavy enough to provide work in appropriate digital formats as requested. In other words, you must be able to scan and edit your own images before sending them to us.
4. Special features associated with the series which may include downloadable screen themes, buddy icons or something as simple as a sketches section.
5. Creators who are consistent and can meet deadlines! If we agree to publish your series, you will be asked to provide at least ten complete strips in advance. Depending on the frequency of your updates(minimum one set day per week, ie: every Sunday), you will be further required to submit a set amount of strips once per month.Contact us for more details.
